Llanidloes is the first town which the river Severn meets as it makes it way to the Bristol Channel some 200 miles away. It is an ancient and gentle town which has become a magnet for artists, ecologists, musicians, and writers.
There is a strong Christian presence and at St. Idloes we try to be...
A JESUS CHURCH
We believe that Jesus has invited us all to a living relationship with the Father. We endeavour to proclaim this in all that we do. We run Alpha courses as part of this proclamation of Jesus and we love to see people coming into friendship with God. We seek to follow Him as our first priority.
A HOLY SPIRIT CHURCH
St. Idloes Church places a huge emphasis on the person and activity of the Holy Spirit. We expect his presence to be known in our services as we worship, receive the Lord's Word, pray for the sick and receive Bread and Wine. We have a prayer ministry team who pray with the sick during Communion Services. Some of our services are of an entirely Charismatic style, and in our house groups and prayer meetings we expect Him to Guide, inspire us and to act.
A BIBLE CHURCH
We believe the Bible is the Word of God; our final authority and we strive to interpret it responsibly and under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
A FAMILY CHURCH
We are a church with a family emphasis. Being the only Anglican Church in the town, we try and provide for all ages but we focus especially on young families.
There is a Friday night club for children. It's called JAM (Jesus And Me) - contact Sandra (01686) 413165.
During our main Services we have Junior Church and on the first Sunday of each month we have a lively Family Service. This has animated music, relevant worship and teaching geared to all ages. We use puppets, drama, visual aids and so forth. The Church also runs a very successful Mother and Toddler group (Tuesdays 9.30-11)
